Visceral Manipulation

Our organs , bones, muscles, nerves, fascia and blood vessels move in a coordinated symphony with one another. Physical, mental and emotional trauma, in addition to surgery, posture, diet and pollution can create dysfunction in this coordinated movement. Visceral manipulation therapy works to gently but profoundly release these restrictions; for example, our kidneys move 1” with a normal breath and 4” with a deep breath (½ mile per day!) to assist with the health of our kidneys, bladder and urinary tract. Now, imagine a case of pneumonia leaves lung scarring, which reduces your lung capacity and ability to breathe deeply enough to move your kidneys up and down. After a while, you may start experiencing low back pain, urinary problems or pelvis pain, among other problems. This is one of many examples of how the location of pain may not directly coordinate with the cause — and of where visceral manipulation can help!

Visceral Manipulation is especially effective for treating:

  • Traumatic Injuries
  • Joint & Soft Tissue Injuries
  • Scar Tissue
  • Sports Injuries
  • Digestive Problems
  • Swallowing Dysfunction
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Anxiety
